We are thrilled to invite you to Open Rehearsal 2025! We are officially founded on the 1st of March 2022. So we would like to celebrate our birthday with you by opening our doors to you for one evening.

This event takes place during our regular rehearsal time and place, giving you a true taster for how a rehearsal looks like at English Theater Apeldoorn. We will be rehearsing scenes from our current production Meanwhile in Apeldoorn, so you will also get a teaser of our upcoming performances.

When and where

We will meet you on on 25 February. Our rehearsals take place every Tuesday between 19:30 and 21:30 at GIGANT Apeldoorn. So that is when and where we will be for Open Rehearsal 2025 too!

The room we will be in is called Walvis (Whale). Here is how you can find us:

• After entering the building, you will be in front of the reception.
• If you are facing the reception desk, you should continue to your right.
• You’ll see stairs going up on your left, follow them. Midway, you will see the door to Walvis on your left.

What to expect

We always start a rehearsal with a warm up. This may include improvisation or team building exercises. We encourage all our guests to join. Then, we will rehearse a few scenes from our project, just like we normally do every Tuesday. We may ask for your feedback or even invite you to take part. After the rehearsal, we usually have a drink or two at GIGANT’s cafe. Please join us and let’s get to know each other.

About our new production

Meanwhile in Apeldoorn brings several stories from Het grote verhaal van Apeldoorn (HgvvA) to life in short films, freely accessible mini-performances, as well as a final performance. HgvvA is an initiative that puts different events, people, and places from Apeldoorn’s history and present in spotlight. In our production Meanwhile in Apeldoorn, we are giving these stories from Apeldoorn’s history a modern twist. You can learn more about this project here.
