Open Rehearsal 2023
February 28 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pmFree
We are thrilled to invite you to Open Rehearsal 2023, our very first open rehearsal, on February 28! Why now, you ask? Because we are officially founded on the 1st of March 2022. So we would like to celebrate our birthday with you by opening our doors to you for one evening 🙂
This event takes place during our regular rehearsal time and place, giving you a true taster for how a rehearsal looks like in English Theater Apeldoorn. We will be rehearsing scenes from our current production Together Alone, so you will also get a teaser of our upcoming performances.
What to expect
We always start a rehearsal with warming up our bodies and voices. Then, we usually have 1-2 (improvisation) exercises to explore a theme relevant to a scene, or you know, to have some fun 🙂 We may also have a team building exercise, since being united as a team is very important to us. We encourage all our guests to join these parts, but it is also OK if you want to watch everything from the comfort of your seat.
Then comes the real deal. We will rehearse a few scenes from Together Alone, just like we normally do every Tuesday. In this part, if you watch our actors very closely, you may also be able to contribute to our end performances by giving them feedback! This event is the first time ever we meet our audience, so it will be very helpful to get their perspective.
After the rehearsal, we usually have a drink or two at GIGANT’s cafe. Please join us and let’s get to know each other!
So overall, unlike a typical “Open Dag”, Open Rehearsal isn’t only for people who may be interested in joining the community themselves in the next season, but it is also for people who may be interested in coming to our end performances. Both groups can get a taster for what they are curious about.
When and where
Our rehearsals take place every Tuesday between 19:30 and 21:30 at GIGANT Apeldoorn. So on 28 February, that is when and where we will be for Open Rehearsal 2023 too!
The room we will be in is called Walvis (Whale). Please note, this is a change from what we originally announced. Here is how you can find us:
- After entering the building, you will be in front of the reception.
- If you are facing the reception desk, you should continue to your right.
- You’ll see stairs going up on your left, follow them. Midway, you will see the door to Walvis on your left.
About Together Alone
Together Alone is a contemporary piece created by and with the contribution of our community members. The name stems from “feeling alone in a crowd” and the play explores themes like communication, connection, identity, and diversity. What you see is sometimes abstract and musically charged but very relatable situations. Together Alone will hopefully let you not only observe what happens on stage, but also look within.

Good to know: If you fill the form again with the same contact details, you wouldn’t add new seats to your reservation but you would overwrite your first one.
