On 26 March 2023, English Theater Apeldoorn will go on stage for the first time as part of De verjaardag van Anja! We will present two scenes from our current production Together Alone. This will also become a teaser for our end of the season performances coming up in June. So, we are extremely excited to meet our audience with this try out.

De verjaardag van Anja

In English, Anja’s birthday, is an intimate celebration full of stories, poems and cabaret. Every two months on a Sunday afternoon, the hosts (the Apeldoorn’s writers Bas Langereis, Willem Bierman, Aad van der Waal and Reinier Groenendijk) receive various writers, poets and cabaret artists. If there is a silence, they themselves also contribute to the literary or poetic pocket.

Why is this event called Anja’s birthday? Who knows? Join us at the event, get a chance to talk with the organizers, and discover the answer yourself! 🙂

About Together Alone

Together Alone is a contemporary piece created by and with the contribution of our community members. The name stems from “feeling alone in a crowd” and the play explores themes like communication, connection, identity, and diversity. What you see is sometimes abstract and musically charged but very relatable situations. Together Alone will hopefully let you not only observe what happens on stage, but also look within.
