Cultuur bij je buur 2023
April 16 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pmFree
Cultuur bij je buur comes back to your neighborhood in Apeldoorn again on 15 & 16 April. Different people and organizations open their gardens, garages, living rooms… for small performances from local artists. And you know what? In its 10th year, this special edition of the event will have an extra international spice as Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences will host our group on Sunday!
What is waiting for you?
We will perform a selection of scenes from our contemporary play Together Alone three times on 16 Sunday (half an hour mini shows starting at 13:00, 14:30, and 16:00). The entrance, as well as coffee and tea are all for free. So our host Wittenborg will act as a true welcoming neighbour! Hopefully, this makes a “gezellig” Sunday afternoon for everyone.
Together Alone is a “musically charged” piece with abstract depictions that sometimes look more like from a modern dance performance. We created this play together with our community members based on improvisations. The name stems from “feeling alone in a crowd” and we explore themes like communication, connection, identity, and diversity. Together Alone will hopefully let you not only observe what happens on stage, but also look within yourself.
What will make this afternoon even more fun is the Dutch band Tuesday at Tony’s. They are also performing at Wittenborg so you can come around for a 2 for 1 offer 🙂

About Cultuur bij je buur
Cultuur bij je Buur is a project of GIGANT. This is is an annual initiative in which artists from Apeldoorn perform in surprising locations such as living rooms, gardens, community centers, galleries or nursing homes. In line with GIGANT,s mission to give more space to amateur art and enrich the experience of the spectators, it brings residents and (amateur) artists into contact with each other.
